The Saucery keeps a record of what your family has cooked and who cooked it. It's what earns you badges in The Lab, and it's how Fill my week knows what you've had lately.

Marking a meal as cooked

On the meal plan, tap ⋯ on a night and choose Mark as Cooked. The night gets a tick and the cook goes in your history. Adding the week to the shopping list then leaves that meal out, since it's eaten.

It's only offered for tonight and the nights before. A night still to come can't have been cooked yet, and ticking it early would take its ingredients off the shopping list. If you cooked next Tuesday's dinner tonight, move it to tonight first, or log it from Cook Mode.

Ticked the wrong night? Tap ⋯ on it and choose Mark as Not Cooked. That takes the cook out of your history too.

A recipe's own page has Mark as Cooked in its ⋯ menu (⋮ on Android) as well, for something you cooked without planning it.

Logging a cook from Cook Mode

When you tap Finish on the last step of Cook Mode, you're asked whether to log it. Log & Close adds the cook to your history.

If tonight's plan has that recipe, tonight is marked as cooked too, so you don't have to tick it on the plan as well. That only happens when it's the one meal with that recipe tonight. If you cooked a night that's still to come, the cook goes in your history and that night stays on the plan.

Finding your history

On iPhone: Settings, then Cooking History, under History.

On Android: Settings, then Cooking history, under History.

Cooking History, listing Sunday Roast Chicken cooked by Anna Whitcombe on 19 Oct with a note, then Taco Night, Kumara & Chickpea Curry and more
Newest first, with who cooked each one and any note.

Each entry shows the recipe, who cooked it, the date and any note. Who cooked it is the person who marked it cooked or logged it. The newest is at the top.

To add something you cooked earlier, tap +. On iPhone you pick the recipe, the date and a note; on Android, the recipe and a note, and the date is today.

Editing and deleting

On iPhone: tap an entry to change the Date Cooked or the Notes, such as "Rested it twenty minutes". Swipe it left and tap Delete to remove it.

On Android: entries can't be edited yet. Tap the bin on an entry to delete it.

Who cooked it can't be changed. Deleting an entry doesn't ask first.

Viewers in a family can see the history but can't add to it, edit it or mark meals as cooked.

Purchase History

Purchase History sits under Cooking History in Settings. It's a separate list of the things ticked off your shopping list and when, and you can search it by item. It has nothing to do with your subscription or receipts, and only a family admin can open it. See Shopping lists for the list itself.
