How AI credits work
When The Saucery uses AI for you, it counts AI credits. Your family shares one allowance, whoever does the asking.
Whisp, importing and Fill my week's new ideas are part of Saucery Pass. A family on Free still uses a few credits, for the picture painted for each new recipe.
What uses credits

Every new recipe gets a watercolour picture, whether you imported it, Whisp wrote it or Fill my week added it. You don't have to ask. Asking for a new picture on a recipe uses two credits as well.
Most recipe sites publish their recipes in a standard format that The Saucery reads without AI, so importing a link from one of them only uses the two credits for its picture. Suggesting dinners from your own recipes in Fill my week uses none.
Daily and monthly allowances

The daily allowance resets at midnight on your clock, and the monthly one on the first of the month.
The daily allowance is set high on purpose. Most households do their heaviest work in the first week, loading in the recipes they already cook, and 250 credits is a lot of imports. The monthly one sits well above what a household gets through in a month.
Checking your usage
On iPhone: Settings > AI Usage, shown with Saucery Pass. On Android: Settings > AI usage.
It shows the credits used today against the daily allowance and the month so far against the monthly one, then a row for each kind of work over the last 30 days.
The chat also shows a banner as you get close to the daily allowance.
When you reach an allowance
- The box where you type to Whisp says Daily limit reached, and the message says which allowance ran out and when it comes back: at midnight for the daily one, on the first for the monthly one.
- Imports and Fill my week's new ideas wait until it comes back too.
- Everything else keeps working: your recipes, the plan, the shopping list and Cook Mode don't use credits.
